BioPro ion exchange columns are specifically designed for separation of proteins, peptides and nucleic acids.
BioPro IEX columns are based on porous and non-porous hydrophilic polymer beads with low nonspecific adsorption.

YMC offers several solutions for separating chiral compounds with different chiral selectors and different chiral separation mechanisms.

The selectors are either coated/immobilised or bonded to the support material which has different pore sizes dependent on the selector.

According to the selector chiral chromatography can be performed in NP, RP and/or SFC mode.

The exclusive use of C18 groups makes the hydrophobic interaction identical for all three types of J´sphere ODS packings;

only the degree of hydrophobicity, i.e. the polarity, is varied.
In addition to the hydrophobic interaction, the surface siloxane groups of J’sphere ODS packings provide a pronounced

H-bonding capacity contributing additional selectivity. The ability to interact strongly via H-bonding creates the opportunity

to make use of an additional degree of freedom in selectivity. The “controlled hydrogen bonding capacity" of J’sphere ODS packings

represents an efficient tool for the chromatographic discrimination of closely related compounds presenting only minor molecular differences.

Normal phase chromatography is a powerful tool for the separation of positional isomers that are difficult to separate in reversed phase mode. Due to a rigid surface, compared to the more flexible carbon chains of reversed phases, the analytes are influenced by well-defined steric interaction with polar groups.

YMC offers columns packed with non-bonded silica or with silica gel modified with polar groups.

YMC offers a wide variety of selectivities applicable to HPLC from nano-scale analysis to large scale isolation.

In addition to the best-selling YMC-Pack ODS series YMC has several other phases in its portfolio to fulfil customer’s separation requirements.  

YMC’s best-selling, world-renowned YMC-Pack ODS-series is widely known for its variety of selectivities for nonpolar, moderately polar and polar compounds. Further, YMC-Pack ODS-AQ was the first so called “AQ-column”, which can be used under 100% aqueous conditions! Due to their high quality and reproducibility, YMC-Pack ODS columns are successfully used for the validation of analytical HPLC methods and for long term reproducible preparative HPLC processes.

YMC offers chiral and achiral phases for supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) applications to provide the chemist with a number of options for SFC separations.

SFC can offer some advantages over HPLC for similar applications. The low viscosity of supercritical carbon dioxide allows for analytical separations 3-5 times faster than those for normal phase HPLC. Speed of the SFC separations, conservation of organic solvents, and more concentrated product fractions make SFC a desirable preparative chromatographic technique for purifying chemical mixtures.

YMC's columns are 100% compatible with SFC conditions. Further, Alcyon SFC columns are available, which are specifically packed in a SFC compatible hardware and are tested under SFC conditions.

The YMC Carotenoid stationary phase provides sufficient phase thickness to enhance interaction with long chained molecules. Therefore, geometric and positional isomers of conjugated double bonding systems are recognised and resolved by the YMC Carotenoid phase.

YMC Carotenoid can also be used for various analytes, including polar carotenes, polar and nonpolar xanthophylls, steroids, retinols and fat-soluble vitamins. The phase is an excellent choice for LC-MS applications.

 

YMC columns for poly aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are specifically designed for analysis of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons and provides the resolution necessary for a fast identification and quantification of PAHs (according to EPA).

YMC PAH columns provide narrow symmetrical peak shapes and its resolving ability leads to the easy identification and quantification of PAHs. The optimised selectivity of YMC PAH columns results in a separation with enough separation between peaks for wavelength changes when using fluorescence detectors.

Meteoric Core is a core-shell material optimised for ultra fast separations with outstanding resolution. Excellent peak shapes for basic and coordinating compounds are possible due to a large pH-range of 1.5 to 10 (to pH 9 for C8). It is also an ideal choice for LC/MS applications due to low column bleeding

YMC-Triart is a hybrid silica material prepared from well-controlled particle formation technology which is adapted from micro-reactor technology.

The recently developed production step results in truly narrow particle and pore size distributions! With YMC-Triart UHPLC/HPLC columns, wide pH ranges, high temperatures and even 100% H2O eluents are no longer a limitation to the day-to-day work in laboratories. Most importantly, due to its unique particle composition, a balanced hydrophobicity and silanol activity are achieved which makes YMC-Triart a “First Choice“column in method development!
